26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (June 12, 2019) – TJ Wyman continues to progress in the IMCA Modified division scoring his first top-five finish during Saturday night’s Birthday Bash at Canyon Speedway Park.
Saturday night’s festivities at the one-third-mile oval kicked off with heat race action. Starting third, Wyman worked his way into the runner-up position but would lose the spot settling for third. The result lined Wyman up on the inside of the third row for the start of the Arizona Differential IMCA Modified feature event.
“I was up to fourth at the beginning and a couple of laps in I ended up spinning out on my own putting me to the back,” Wyman explained. “I drove it back up to fifth and stayed there the rest of the race. I had some rookie mistakes that caused me to miss the top four, but overall it was a great weekend. The car was fast, and I was happy to finally get a top-five in the modified.”
Wyman and his team plan to take the weekend off to regroup as they look to secure their first IMCA Modified feature win.
