26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (May 23, 2019) – TJ Wyman fell one spot short of his second top-ten finish with the Arizona Differential IMCA Modifieds this season after contact ended a potential top-five run at Canyon Speedway Park’s Duel at the Diamond.
Saturday’s action began with Wyman rolling off from the outside of the front row in his heat race but would fall back to the tail of the field after getting off to a good start. Wyman finished sixth lining him up sixteenth for the start of the Arizona Differential IMCA Modified feature.
“The car was buzzing the tires too much in the heat,” said Wyman. “We made some changes that worked big time and allowed us to move through the field in the main.”
Restarting seventh with three to go, Wyman got a run off the top of two and went to try the bottom to pass for fifth when contact would send him to the back of the field. Wyman battled from the back over the final three laps crossing the line three-wide for eleventh, finishing just shy of a top-ten finish.
“The car was fast and I was getting better every lap,” explained Wyman. “We definitely had a fast car and will regroup and try again at Arizona Speedway this weekend.”
