26 Promotions – Lakeport, CA – (April 23, 2019) – Sierra Furia kicked off her 2019 season Saturday night at Ukiah Speedway with the Limited Modifieds.
The weekend began for Furia with a qualifying session Saturday evening where she would lay down a lap of 13.695 seconds, which would be good enough for third quick in the tough 14-car field. Lining up fifth in the first of two heat races, Furia raced her way to third after getting held up on the start, earning a spot in the trophy dash where she used the most out of the four laps to figure out the top groove of the speedway and test the limits of her No. 37 modified.
Initially starting fourth, a red flag would be displayed after two cars collided and went hard into the front stretch wall. Furia would restart the feature from the outside of the front row where she would take and hold the lead for 35 revolutions around the one-fourth-mile oval before the second-place car would make a run at her and get by for the lead. Furia ended the night with a third-place finish.
“It felt great to be back behind the wheel, and it was great to have a good run after so many
issues Friday night at test and tune,” said Furia. “We had a good car, had a car to win, but we just could not pull it off. We will be back behind the wheel May 18th at Ukiah Speedway”
