26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (March 28, 2019) – Rick Shuman scored his third top-ten finish of the year Saturday night with the San Tan Ford ASCS Desert Sprint Car Series at Arizona Speedway.
“We had a great weekend at Arizona Speedway,” said Shuman. “The Advanced Packaging, Beedle Bug Maxim was fast right out of the trailer. Joe Campos, John Hunter and I had changed a bunch of thing on the chassis during the week to help get us where we need to be.”
The start of the night didn’t go as Shuman planned. Starting fifth in heat two, Shuman fell back two positions to finish seventh. The result would place him on the outside of the seventh row for the start of the 20-lap feature.
“We tightened the car up and passed up to tenth right away,” he explained. “We settled in there and got comfortable. We avoided a crash that took out three cars in front of us and passed one more to end up sixth, which is our best finish at Arizona Speedway.”
Shuman’s consistency has him sitting sixth in series points as the Desert Sprint Cars head to Canyon Speedway Park this weekend for two nights of action on Friday and Saturday.
