26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (March 13, 2019) – The first two races of the 2019 season have been unkind to reigning Arizona Micro Sprint champion, Paul Martin, as he has fought fueling issues to start the year.

Those issues plagued Martin during the first night of the Spring Showcase where Martin recorded a 14th-place finish.

“The last few races I’ve had fuel pressure issues, that turned out to be a clogged cartridge, with a new fuel pump,” explained Martin. “On Saturday, I replaced the fuel pump with the help of Jake Fife, and we were ready to go.”

Starting fourth and gaining two positions to finish second in his heat qualified Martin for the feature redraw where he would pull the number one to start on the pole.

“I knew I had to be on my A game with Mason Keefer starting on the outside,” he said. “The car was unbelievably fast with a perfect setup. When the green flag dropped, I had a really good start and was able to hang on to the lead off of turn two. Mason challenged me early on as I searched for the sweet spot on the track. I was able to set it on cruise after multiple cautions and brought it home for the win by seven or eight car-lengths.”

Martin’s win has him right back in the championship hunt where he currently sits fifth just 53-points out of the lead after three races.

Martin returns to action with the Arizona Micro Sprints on March 29th and 30th at Canyon Speedway Park.

Paul Martin would like to thank Deer Valley Napa Auto & Truck Parts, Don Jose’ Mexican Food, Memory Lane Customs, OPTIV, Hilton Glass, Prestige Realty, Forterra Pipe & Precast, Australian Outback Plants, Living a Dream, and #JusticeforMakayla for their continued support.
