26 Promotions - Peoria, AZ - (February 11, 2019) - Following a runner-up finish last weekend at Central Arizona Speedway, Aaron Jones headed to Canyon Speedway Park for the 3rd Annual Steve Stroud Memorial.
With a modified format in play this weekend, the Desert Sprint Cars would attempt single car qualifying which would set the two heat race lineups with the top eight qualifiers being inverted.
Jones fast time of 14.400 seconds was fourth quick placing him on the inside of the second row for the start of the eight lap heat.
Jones statesman that they missed on the setup following qualifying resulting in Jones finishing fifth from third in his heat. The results placed Jones on the outside of the fifth row for the start of the 25-lap feature.
“There was an early caution and we fell back a few spots, restarting in the 13 position,” said Jones. “After several more cautions we were able to battle a rough track to bring home a solid fourth-place finish.”
With his back to back top-five finishes, Jones now holds a 20-point lead as the series heads to Arizona Speedway on March 23rd.
