26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (January 30, 2019) – TJ Wyman’s sophomore season with IMCA Northern Sport Mods officially kicked off Saturday with the first two rounds of Canyon Speedway Park’s Winter Challenge.

Saturday afternoon’s opening round featured two heat races that would see Wyman line up on the inside of the second row in heat number two.

“I was excited to return to the track for the 2019 season,” said Wyman. “We started third in the second heat and finished fifth due to a few rookie mistakes.”

Wyman’s result in the heat placed him in tenth for the start of the 20-lap IMCA Northern Sport Mod feature.

“We missed the setup,” he explained. “So, we were in the back the whole race and ended up finishing in twelfth.”

Moving into Sunday’s action, Wyman would again start on the inside of the second row in the second heat.

“We were running second, but the car faded away and we finished in fifth,” he said. “We started tenth in the feature again and had a good start. We were up to seventh or eighth and I made a few rookie errors and fell back to finish twelfth. I’d say this weekend went pretty good for us with me getting back in the seat and getting used to the car again. I’m excited about this weekend and hoping for better finishes.”

Wyman will be back at Canyon Speedway Park with the IMCA Northern Sport Mods on Saturday and Sunday afternoon for the final two rounds of the Winter Challenge.

TJ Wyman would like to thank Fuga Energy, Allscapes Installation Services Inc, the Funk Family, Silbercom Trucking, Speedway Lettering, Tommy’s Garage, Dirt Worx Contracting, Az Tubes and Hoses, MDM Accounting Services, Happy Home Realtor, Ashcraft Motorsports, Wild Wolf Kettle Korn, Floor Depot, and Industrial Machinery Services for their support.
