26 Promotions – Las Vegas, NV – (November 21, 2018) – Dylan Cappello concluded his 2018 season on Saturday night with the final round of the SpillVak Triple Crown at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“With the regular season over, the SpillVak championship was still up for grabs, and we headed into the weekend with a two-point lead,” said Cappello. “Friday night’s practice was great, and we made slight improvements in long-run speed as the night went on. We ended the night P2 after running the most laps in the field.”

Going into Saturday, Cappello only had one practice session to prepare for qualifying. The Hitman ended the afternoon’s final practice second quick in the 28-car field.

“Qualifying wasn’t our best effort putting us fourth quick,” he said. “Lining up third for the trophy dash, we were able to grab second, but ran out of time to get to the leader.”

With an eight pulled for the draw, Cappello lined up fifth for the first of two 50-lap segments.

“The start of the 100-lap feature started well with us battling our way up to third before lap 25,” he explained. “Quickly I passed the leader and began putting a good amount between us and second place. The halfway break come out, and we had to give up almost a two-second lead. Our car was good, and we didn’t want to change much over the break.”

The second segment started much like the first segment ended with Cappello breaking out to a solid lead while second and third battled for position behind him.

“The second-place car began closing the distance with about 25-laps to go, and after holding him off for about 15-laps he was able to sneak by and drive away,” he said. “Looking on the bright side after another heartbreaking second-place finish, we won the SpillVak championship and ended the year on a high note. I can’t thank the whole RBK team enough and SpillVak for sponsoring the Triple Crown championship.”

Cappello ends the 2018 Lucas Oil Modified Series season with one win, nine top five and 10 top ten finishes.

Dylan Cappello would like to thank Geico, SpillVak, Quick Response Garage Doors, Spray Nine, Driven Motorsports, Team RBK, Pro Power Racing Engines, Total Power Batteries, Roger Seymour Photography, and Bilstein Shocks for their support this season.
