Colton Hardy Produces Sixth ASCS Southwest Region Win at Arizona Speedway

26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (October 11, 2018) – Colton Hardy continued his dominate second-half run with his third ASCS Southwest Region victory in four starts since the series returned to action in September.

The Bandit Racing team kicked off the ASCS Southwest Region event at Arizona Speedway advancing from eighth to second in heat one. Hardy was the night’s top point earner after the heat races, making the feature redraw where he pulled the five to start on the inside of the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

“We knew we had a good car, we just needed to work on the balance of the car a little for how hooked up the track was after all the rain we received earlier in the week,” he said. “We fell back on the initial start to sixth or seventh and methodically worked our way up to second. The car was still off in the feature, but we got to the leader in lap traffic, and we were able to make the pass with about three to go.”

Hardy would go on to stretch out his lead to just under a second as the checkered flags waved to earn his sixth ASCS Southwest feature victory of the year.

“It feels good with how the car was to still pick up the win, but we’ve got some work to do going into this weekend and then Trophy Cup to make sure we are at the top of our game,” he said. “I can’t thank all my guys enough. Racing five weeks straight makes the weekdays longer, and they really step up to make sure the car is ready to go.”

With the victory on Saturday night, Hardy has re-taken the ASCS Southwest Region points lead as they head to Canyon Speedway Park this weekend.

Colton Hardy would like to thank Diamond Mechanical, A & C Remodeling, Engler Machine and Tools, CSI Shocks by Factor One, Schoenfeld Headers, Marks Bolts, Nuts & Surplus, M & J Trophies and Apparel, Bandit Racing, Borello Race Engines, and Highline Clothing Co. for their continued support.
