26 Promotions – Madera, CA – (October 10, 2018) – Blake Rogers scored his fifth top-ten finish of the Lucas Oil Modified Series season on Saturday at Madera Speedway.

“Madera was pretty good to use except for qualifying once again,” he explained. “We were top-ten in final practice and went to qualify, and the car was tight once again. We ended up qualifying 15th, which was just embarrassing for us knowing we had a top-ten car.”

Rogers qualifying result placed him on the inside of the eighth row for the start of the 75-lap Lucas Oil Modified Series main event.

“We left the car the same as it was in qualifying because you want the car tight for the main so it isn’t too loose as the laps go on,” explained Rogers. “The car was quick right from the drop of the green flag. We passed cars up high and down low. It was crazy how quick the car was.”

By lap 63, Rogers had hustled his way into seventh and only had twelve laps left to try to crack the top-five.

“I was actually catching the two cars in front of me, but I just needed more laps,” he said. “I’m a bit disappointed in knowing that we had one of the fastest, if not the fastest, car of the night but once again qualifying haunted us and made it difficult to show everyone what this team can do. I’m excited for Havasu though because it is my best track and it requires more driver skill than car setup.”

Rogers has now earned four consecutive top-ten finishes. Rogers is back in action with the Lucas Oil Modified Series on October 27th at Havasu 95 Speedway.

Blake Rogers would like to thank Lucas Oil, FIRM Inc., MGM Design, Jacks Auto Parts, Mitchell’s Merchant Patrol, Pacesetter Home Centers, Arce Race Engines, Dune Company of Yuma, Big W Sales, and Super Clean for their continued support.
