26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (October 9, 2018) – Nick Parker scored his second podium finish of the year with the ASCS Southwest Region Saturday at Arizona Speedway.

“Going into Saturday we decided to debut a newer hotrod we had been building throughout the year,” he explained. “Our expectations weren’t very high going into the race, taking into mind we had motor issues before the break and it being a new car and all.”

Parker’s night kicked off with him advancing one position in his heat race, earning enough points to make the feature redraw where he drew the three.

“Pushing off third for the feature was a gift as the track was still wet and fast with really no room for passing,” Parker said. “We quickly moved into second on the start, and the car seemed to be coming in. Running the bottom, I was able to sneak underneath the leader, and around that time I started to lose air in my right rear.”

As air escaped the tire, Parker’s car developed a bad push in the center of the corner leading him to bike the car in turn three with three laps to go.

“That allowed the car behind us to sneak around on the outside, resulting in a second-place finish,” he said. “The right rear had 1.5 PSI in it after the race.”

Parker currently has two top-five and five top-ten finishes in nine starts with the ASCS Southwest Region this year.

Parker will be in action on Saturday with the ASCS Southwest Sprint Cars at Canyon Speedway Park’s Octoberfest.

Nick Parker would like to thank Parker Automotive, BG Southwest Oil & Lube, Performance Engine and Machine, Metal Tec Fabrications, and Fiveone Media for their continued support.
