26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (October 3, 2018) – Paul Martin scored his first two victories of the year over the weekend as the Micro Sprints made their first appearance at Arizona Speedway in six years during the Hall of Fame Classic.

Friday night kicked off with Martin starting on the pole and finishing second in his heat, lining him up on the outside of the front row for the start of the feature event.

“We ran after the Sprint Cars, so the track was slick,” he explained. “Our car was the loosest of the three, and I rolled the wing all the way back and held on. We all had our small problems, but we were able to put on a show. After falling to the back, I was running second, and Mason Keefer had it come around on him in turn 4, and I barely missed, almost spinning in the process.”

Martin would assume the lead on the restart with three to go and would lead the final three laps to pick up his first win of the year.

“I feel bad for Mason as he was bitten by bad luck again. He had a full corner on me, and I was a strong second-place car,” he said. “I’ve learned to humbly take them any way you can get them. You never know when it’s your last.”

Saturday’s Hall of Fame Classic finale started off on the wrong foot for Martin who had to miss hot laps due to mechanical issues.

“We had a problem with the butterflies hanging up,” he said. “After clearing that up, we took the start of the heat from the pole and hit a hole going into turn one that I didn’t see and fell back to finish third.”

With the invert, Martin would start Saturday’s feature from the pole.

“We had a good setup on the car and were able to pull away for the win in the main event,” he said. “It was a bittersweet win as it was a non-point race with a low car count at the Hall of Fame Classic. Thank you to all my family, friends, and partners that help make it possible for me to live a dream.”

Next up for Martin is a return to Canyon Speedway Park on October 13th for CSP Octoberfest.

Paul Martin would like to thank Optiv Security Consultants, Hilton Glass, Prestige Realty, Don Jose’ Mexican Food, Forterra Pipe & Precast, ARC Powder Coating, Memory Lane Customs, MGI Motorsports, Steffey Excavating, #97JusticeforMakayla for their continued support.
