26 Promotions – San Bernardino, CA – (September 19, 2018) – Blake Rogers scored his fifth top-ten finish with the Lucas Oil Modified Series on Saturday at Orange Show Speedway during the GEICO 100 presented by Optima Batteries.

“We struggled this weekend at Orange Show Speedway with getting the car not to spin the tires as we had our big motor in the car,” he said. “The car felt good in practice and when we went to qualify the car got tight, and we ended up qualifying 13th.”

Rogers would slowly work his way through the field throughout the first half of the race, cracking the top-ten just past the half-way point.

“We got stuck behind a car for about 40-laps and finally got around him,” he explained. “We ended up going a lap down from being stuck behind slower traffic, but we were able to get the lucky dog. I felt like we had a top-five car, but with the traffic and a one groove track we just couldn’t make it.”

Rogers was up to sixth during the final restart with about 40-laps left when another car moved up the track making contact with Rogers’ tire causing damage to the car. Rogers was able to hang on to finish the race in ninth.

“All in all, I am okay with the finish and glad we were able to load the car up in one piece,” he said. “It is a bummer knowing you have a fast car but don’t have the results to prove it. We have to be able to qualify better, so we don’t get stuck behind slower cars and show what our team is capable of.”

Next up for Rogers is a return to Madera Speedway on October 6th with the Lucas Oil Modified Series.

Blake Rogers would like to thank Lucas Oil, FIRM Inc., MGM Design, Jacks Auto Parts, Mitchell’s Merchant Patrol, Pacesetter Home Centers, Arce Race Engines, Dune Company of Yuma, Big W Sales, and Super Clean for their continued support.
