26 Promotions – Show Low, AZ – (September 7, 2018) – Paul Martin rebounded from a disqualification after missing the scales on Saturday night to score his fifth top-five finish of the year on Sunday at Show Low Speedway Park.

“We had high hopes rolling up to Show Low Speedway Park,” he said. “But the weekend started out with us battling some fuel issues at full throttle. I was able to adjust the fuel pressure to minimize the problem and the car ran smoothly if I lifted just a bit.”

Martin picked up the heat race win on Saturday night lining him up on the pole for the start of the micro sprint feature.

“I was able to drive away after a restart,” he explained. “After running in California, I was forced to make some major chassis setup changes. These changes greatly improved the setup and brought the handling back. I was able to lead the first 17-laps before the yellow came out. I ended up battling Jarrett Martin in turn one and two with three to go, yielding the lead and finishing a strong second-place. Unfortunately, I missed the scales on the other side of the pit which rendered a disqualification.”

Putting the mistake behind him, Martin returned to Show Low Speedway Park on Sunday night looking to build off his strong run.

Starting fourth and finishing fourth in his heat would place Martin on the outside of the fourth row for the start of the 20-lap feature.

“We had a decent non-wing setup on Sunday,” he said. “We had the car a little tight in the feature, but we were able to make our way to a fifth-place finish.”

Paul Martin returns to action on September 21st and 22nd at Canyon Speedway Park with the CSP Micro Sprints where he currently holds an 18-point advantage in the championship standings.

Paul Martin would like to thank Optiv Security Consultants, Hilton Glass, Prestige Realty, Don Jose’ Mexican Food, Forterra Pipe & Precast, ARC Powder Coating, Memory Lane Customs, MGI Motorsports, Steffey Excavating, #97JusticeforMakayla for their continued support.
