26 Promotions – Irwindale, CA – (August 22, 2018) – Blake Rogers scored his second top-five finish of the year Saturday at Irwindale Speedway, his first top-five since the season-opening race in March.

“This weekend was a good one for my team and I,” said Rogers. “We showed up Saturday to the track and had a tight-handling car all of practice and qualifying as well. We qualified ninth which was pretty good for how tight the car was during the two laps.”

Rogers qualifying effort would line him up on the inside of the fifth row for the 75-lap feature event.

“We made some big adjustments before the main event in hopes of getting the car to turn,” explained Rogers. “The race was very intense with having to work our way up the field by using the low line to pass which made for some difficult slide jobs.”

Rogers moved into fifth with just over a third of the race completed; a late race caution would bunch up the field one last time.

“We battled all night, and the adjustments we made to the car helped out tremendously as the car rotated very well,” he said. “We slowly gained positions and made our way to fifth when a late race caution came out. I gave it everything I had to try and advice my position but just didn’t have the tires left to complete the pass on fourth. All in all, I am very pleased with finishing fifth and getting our first top five since Havasu.”

Rogers returns to action with the Lucas Oil Modified Series on September 15th at Orange Show Speedway.

Blake Rogers would like to thank Lucas Oil, FIRM Inc., MGM Design, Jacks Auto Parts, Mitchell’s Merchant Patrol, Pacesetter Home Centers, Arce Race Engines, Dune Company of Yuma, Big W Sales, and Super Clean for their continued support.
