26 Promotions – Tucson, AZ – (July 31, 2018) – Cody Cambensy picked up another top-five result Saturday night at Tucson Speedway.

“The truck felt awesome in practice,” said Cambensy. “We were third quick out of the 22 truck field, and the changes we made from last race seem to be working great.”

With heat races determining the feature lineup, Cambensy started fifth in the second heat and quickly made his way up to second and battled for the race lead.

“The winner ended up being disqualified, so we ended up with the heat race win,” he explained. “Those are great bonus points for the championship. The truck was loose, so we decided to make a few more adjustments before the feature.”

An invert of eight would like Cambensy up on the inside of the fourth row for the start of the 25-lap NASCAR Super Truck feature.

“As soon as the green dropped we began making our way through the field,” he explained. "The truck felt great, and we were just trying to be patient. After getting into fifth on lap thirteen, the motor began to cut in and out losing power. We had a red flag with eight laps to go, and I was hoping the truck would cool down and maybe get back some power. On the restart, I made a run to the inside making it three wide for second and third, and the truck ran great for about two laps and went back to laying down and losing power.”

Cambensy would take the checkers in fifth to earn his ninth top-five finish in nine starts this season.

“I was feeling really good with the handling of the truck,” he explained. “I don’t know if we had a truck to win, but we should have run second or third. Fifth keeps us in the hunt for the championship and makes all top-five finishes this year. Congratulations to our teammate on his first win as well! We will get the ignition looked at and see if we can get back to battling for the win.”

Cambensy will be back in action with the NASCAR Super Truck Series August 25th at Tucson Speedway.

Cody Cambensy would like to thank Brad and Joann at TMI, INC., Temperature Control INC., Levin Racing, Castle Roofing, Port of Tucson, Tucson Frozen Storage, Dirt Works Contracting, Desert RV, Road Runner Pizza, and Fiveone Media for their continued support.
