26 Promotions – Salt Lake City, UT – (July 25, 2018) – Dylan Cappello scored his fourth podium finish of the season Saturday as the Lucas Oil Modified Series made their final appearance at Rocky Mountain Raceways.

Cappello opened the Lucas Oil Products 75 weekend at the three-eighths-mile oval on Friday with a four-hour practice session.

“We were really good Friday night and didn’t change much on the car between new and old tires staying near the top of the board every session,” explained Cappello. “The game plan Saturday was to qualify good enough to make the invert and win the race, plain and simple.”

Cappello qualified sixth quick on Saturday afternoon, placing him on the outside of the third row for the start of the 75-lap feature and on the pole for the Quick 6 Dash.

The Hitman jumped out to the lead, clearing the outside row through one and two, leading all six-laps to pick up the $500 trophy dash win.

Following the Quick 6 Dash and a brief rain shower, the Team RBK crew was ready to tackle the 75-lap feature event.

“Starting sixth, our plan to get towards the front early worked out, and we were in third by lap five,” he explained. “With a better short run car, we were lucky to get a good amount of cautions and grab second early in the race. We had a hard-fought battle for the position that allowed the leader to pull away and I eventually settled into third.”

Cappello would take the checkered flags in third for his fourth podium finish in his last five Lucas Oil Modified Series races.

“We simply had a third-place car,” he said. “The crew did an excellent job getting the car as good as possible, and we will learn and apply it to Irwindale next month.”

The Hitman will be back in action with the Lucas Oil Modified Series on August 18th at Irwindale Speedway.

Dylan Cappello would like to thank Geico, Quick Response Garage Doors, Spray Nine, Driven Motorsports, Team RBK, Pro Power Racing Engines, Total Power Batteries, Roger Seymour Photography, and Bilstein Shocks for their support.
