26 Promotions – Las Cruces, NM – (July 18, 2018) – Dennis Gile rocketed to his second consecutive NMMRA 360 Sprint Car feature win Saturday at Southern New Mexico Speedway.

“We thought for sure it was going to rain out,” said Gile. “Royal and Rue do a good job of letting racers and fans know that they’re going to do everything to get it in, even if there are delays. There was rain about two miles away from the track, but all the rain stayed away, and we enjoyed the cooler weather.”

Gile’s night kicked off with heat race action, where he’d finish second from third, securing a spot in the top-eight redraw.

“I laid back a little bit in the heat once I knew we were in the re-draw position,” said Gile. “My re-draw skills are the worse, last race I drew the eight and this time I drew the seven.”

Gile quickly maneuvered his way through the field, taking the lead within the first five or six laps.

“It was a smooth night for us,” he explained. “The track was more technical than the last time we were there. My dad did a few things to the car that he normally does before the main event. The car was a rocket ship and was really easy to drive. I found a line and stuck to it for the whole race. I was able to hit my marks, and it felt like we were in cruise control.”

Gile claimed the checkers with a five-second advantage over second-place to score his third feature win of the year and his second in as many races with the NMMRA Sprint Car Series.

Up next for Gile is the USAC Southwest Series Freedom Tour. The Freedom Tour kicks off at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 15th, then travels to Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Oklahoma before wrapping up with two shows at 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas on August 17th and 18th.

Dennis Gile would like to thank Walker Performance Filtration, Sands Chevrolet, Dennis Gile Quarterback Academy, and Bobby Q’s for their continued support.
