26 Promotions - Queen Creek, AZ - (July 5, 2018) - Alex Pettas raced from fourteenth to eighth securing his sixth top-ten finish of the year Saturday at Arizona Speedway.

“Saturday night started off with a bad pill draw, which lined us up seventh in our heat race,” Pettas said. “We had a very fast car, which was nice for a change. We have been struggling for the last five or six races due to a bad vibration and an Ill-handling car.”

Starting seventh in heat one, Pettas was up to fifth when he and the fourth-place car made contact on the white flag lap, ending their heat race a lap early.

“I had my hands full in the heat because we cut a right rear tire and it was losing air,” he explained. “Since we weren’t able to finish the heat, we started last in the feature. We had a very good car early on, especially on the bottom, but towards the end of the race we just kind of stalled out. We tried the top once or twice late in the race but couldn’t really get a hold of anything.”

Pettas now sits sixth in ASCS Southwest Region points with one top-five, and six top-ten finishes this season.

“All in all it was a decent night considering we’ve got some of the bugs worked out, including the vibration,” he said. “Big thanks to Cody, Mack, Kyle, Michelle, David, Lorri, and Buster. Thanks to Jonah and his team, they prepped an amazing track surface for us to race on.”

Pettas and his team will travel to Northern California over the weekend and then head to Oregon for six nights of racing starting July 9th through the 14th with the Western Sprint Tour.

Alex Pettas would like to thank Lorri Keough, Engler Machine & Tool, 6x Specialties, Indy Race Parts, Triple X Race Products, Conroy “Pneu” Bleeders, Ti64, Afco Racing, Bell Helmets, and Arizona Speedway for their support.
