26 Promotions - Queen Creek, AZ - (July 5, 2018) - Jarrett Martin secured his third ASCS Southwest Region top-ten finish of the year Saturday at Arizona Speedway’s Summer Explosion.

“I was excited to get back to Arizona Speedway after running in Las Cruces a few weeks ago,” said Martin. “I was hoping some of the things we learned over in Las Cruces might transfer to our home track. The car was great in hot laps, and I felt really comfortable with the setup we had on it.”

Starting on the pole and finishing third in the first heat, Martin earned enough points to make the top eight re-draw that would determine the first four rows for the 25-lap feature.

“They prepped the track before the feature, and they did an awesome job making both a top and a bottom for the entire race,” he explained. “We drew the number six for our starting spot, it wasn’t an ideal place to start, but at least it was on the outside row so I could get to the top right away. After the initial start, I ran sixth for a while, and I was pretty smooth and comfortable up there.”

Martin backed up a few spots as the bottom groove became the preferred line during the middle stages of the race.

“I got out of my groove for a little bit and thought that I should try the bottom,” he said. “It took me a while to figure it out, but we were okay down there. With a couple of late restarts, I was able to make up a few more spots and ended up finishing the race in seventh. I think we could have been in the top-five if I limited my mistakes, but we are continually showing good speed throughout the night.”

Martin is scheduled to have the next few weekends off from racing as the summer heat in Arizona kicks into high gear. The ASCS Southwest Region returns to action on September 1st and 2nd at Show Low Speedway Park.

Jarrett Martin would like to thank Steve Stone Racing, Torco Race Fuels, Macenzie Motorsports, Southwest T-Shirt Company, The Race Shack, Paint by Steve, and J&J Auto Racing for their support.
