26 Promotions – Yuma, AZ – (June 27, 2018) – The 2018 Lucas Oil Modified Series season has not gone the way Blake Rogers had hoped. After a fourth-place finish at Havasu 95 Speedway to start the season, Rogers has dealt with his fair share of bad luck in Tucson, Las Vegas, and Madera. He’s hoping to turn that around this weekend at Kern County Raceway.

“We have had a very unlucky season after a solid start to the year,” Rogers explained. “But, we are going to keep showing up to the track with a goal of a top-five finish. None of the incidents have really been our fault this year, just a lot of bad luck with other drivers and we seem to get caught up with them. So hopefully this weekend will be the start of a new beginning to our season, and we can come out with a solid finish.”

Rogers looks to build off his career-best finish at the track last year but knows his family-owned team will be at a bit of a disadvantage when they hit the track this weekend.

“We finished eighth at Kern last year, but we don’t quite have the motor some of these guys have which makes it difficult for us to get a top five there,” said Rogers. “But I like the track because it is the fastest track in our series and as a racer, we all enjoy getting to feel the true speed of these race cars.”

With a little luck on his side, Rogers has a top-five finish in his sights with hopes of turning his season around.

“Kern it is a momentum track, and you have to have big power and be able to get to the gas quick,” he explained. “Knowing that we don’t have as big of a motor as some of our competitors it is going to be tough, but I am hopeful that we will be able to pull off a top five with a long run car and hopefully have a little luck on our side for once this season.”

The SpillVak Triple Crown weekend at Kern County Raceway kicks off on Friday night with practice, Saturday’s racing action will open with practice followed by qualifying, a B-Main or Quick 6 Dash, and the Lucas Oil Modified Series Feature will close out the racing program.

Blake Rogers would like to thank Lucas Oil, FIRM Inc., MGM Design, Jacks Auto Parts, Mitchell’s Merchant Patrol, Pacesetter Home Centers, Arce Race Engines, Dune Company of Yuma, Big W Sales, and Super Clean for their continued support.
