26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (April 25, 2018) – Zachary Madrid charged from thirteenth to first at Arizona Speedway on Saturday night to claim his second IMCA Modified win of the year.

Advancing from tenth to fifth in his heat, Madrid earned enough passing points to lock himself into the night’s feature event, but he’d come up one spot short of making the twelve-car invert.

“We started thirteenth, and after a couple of attempts, we got a clean start and worked our way through the field as fast as we could,” Madrid explained. “The car was super-fast all night and was working perfectly in the main. I knew if I got to the cushion I could use my Sprint Car experience and run it as hard as I could on the cushion.”

It took Madrid seven laps to go from thirteenth to second and another three laps for Madrid to take over the lead.

Madrid led the last half of the race, crossing the line with over a second and a half lead to capture his second win in the IMCA Modified division and his fifth win between the Modified and Sprint Car this year.

Madrid will be in the Team AZ Racing, Maxim Chassis, number 34 Sprint Car this weekend at Arizona Speedway with the USAC Southwest Series.

Zachary Madrid would like to thank American Flowtech, MDM Accounting, Arizona Differential, Sunoco Race Fuels, Martin Auto Museum, RJR, WSM Auctioneers, Madrid Motorsports, F. Susan McGinnis Attorney at Law, and Larry Shaw Race Cars for their continued support.
