26 Promotions – Yuma, AZ – (April 12, 2018) – Blake Rogers is ready to hit the track this weekend in Tucson, Arizona for round two of the Lucas Oil Modified Series presented by MAVTV.

“The team and I are feeling very confident heading into the race this weekend at Tucson Speedway,” said Rogers. “A top-five in Havasu was a great way to start off the season, so we’re looking to build off that.”

Rogers had his best finish at the three-eighths-mile oval in 2017 where he finished just outside the top five.

“We qualified and finished sixth last year and also won the trophy dash, which was the first of my career with the Lucas Oil Modified Series,” he said. “The couple years before that we were usually a top-15 car, but last year we definitely had a great car.”

Rogers knows that biggest key to a successful weekend in Tucson will be tire conservation.

“The biggest thing about Tucson is managing tires because the track is so abrasive and it just eats through tires,” explained Rogers. “The key this weekend will be to conserve tires but also to be aggressive at the same time. One way we can do this is by using the cone on restarts as an advantage. A good qualifying spot will also be key to helping manage tires, so we won’t have to use as much trying to get around cars.”

Rogers will also be keeping his eye on the weather forecast this weekend as temperatures in the 80’s are expected on Saturday.

“One thing to also look at is going to be the warm weather,” he said. “It's going to be pretty warm this weekend, so we’re going to have to tighten the car a lot more and keep the engine running cool. I think the EFI system is going to be very helpful on the bigger tracks like Tucson just because of how responsive it is, and I’m looking forward to seeing how that will play out for us this weekend.”

But above all, Rogers is excited to get back to one of his favorite tracks that provides action-packed racing across multiple grooves.

Blake Rogers would like to thank Lucas Oil, FIRM Inc., MGM Design, Jacks Auto Parts, Mitchell’s Merchant Patrol, Pacesetter Home Centers, Arce Race Engines, Dune Company of Yuma, Big W Sales, and Super Clean for their continued support.
