26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (April 12, 2018) – Zachary Madrid put on a dominating performance Saturday night in the San Tan Ford Desert Sprint Car Series at Arizona Speedway.
Madrid kicked off the Arizona Desert Shootout winning heat race two from the pole position, earning enough points to make the top six-invert, placing him on the pole for the start of the 25-lap feature.
“We jumped out to the lead from the start, and I ran a few laps on the bottom,” explained Madrid. “I saw it was going away fast, so I jumped to the top and tried to be as smooth as possible. We had a couple of late cautions, and I knew if I made it through one and two they wouldn’t catch me in three and four.”
Madrid led all 25-laps of the feature event to earn his third San Tan Ford Desert Sprint Car Series victory in three races this season.
On Sunday afternoon, Madrid made his way to Central Arizona Speedway in Casa Grande, Arizona where he ran his IMCA Modified. Madrid finished 8th in the feature from his 15th starting position.
