26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (April 5, 2018) – Paul Martin collected his third podium finish of the season Saturday night at Canyon Speedway Park’s Easter Eggstravaganza.
Martin scored the heat race win from his outside front row starting position, locking him into the feature redraw. Pulling the number three would place Martin on the inside of the second row to start the 25-lap feature.
“It was a real slick, one groove track,” explained Martin. “I was waiting for a mistake from either Zach Madrid or Dustin Cormany as they battled in front of me when Zach’s throttle stuck to bring out the yellow and move me into second. I got a little wide off of turn four a little later, and Mason Keefer and I went for the same spot, and I drove over his right front. I was able to save it from the wall but fell back to fourth.”
Martin battled back in the closing laps, crossing the finish line in third. He now has two third-place finishes, and a runner-up finish in three events this season.
Martin will take a 20-plus point lead in Arizona Micro Sprint standings when they return to action on Memorial Day weekend at Show Low Speedway Park on May 26th and 27th.
