26 Promotions - Peoria, AZ - (April 3, 2018) - RJ Johnson claimed his third USAC Southwest podium finish of 2018 at Canyon Speedway Park’s Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday night.
Johnson started on the pole and led all eight laps to pick up the heat race win.
After the points were tallied, Johnson was third in passing points, lining him up fourth for the 30-lap feature after the six-car invert.
“We fell back to sixth at the start and slowly worked our way back forward,” said Johnson. “We were able to take second coming out of turn two on the last lap to finish there.”
The reigning USAC Southwest champion has two wins to go along with his runner-up finish in three Southwest contests.
Johnson’s next scheduled event is April 14th with the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA.
