26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (March 14, 2018) – Tye Mihocko, a regular competitor in the USAC Southwest 360 Series, made his 410 debut on Friday night with the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Series at Canyon Speedway Park.

“Going into the night we really weren’t too sure what to expect,” said Mihocko. “We had run with the 410’s before and had been decent with a 360, but I think we had a better idea of what to expect after qualifying and had hoped for a top five to ten finish.”

Mihocko qualified 12th with a fast lap of 14.102, lining him up on the inside of the second row for his heat, where he’d exchange third position back-and-forth throughout the ten-lap race before finishing fourth. Reverting to qualifying times, Mihocko started the 30-lap feature 12th and struggled in the early portions of the race.

“We had a good car for the feature, but it took a bit for the track to come to us,” explained Mihocko. “I think we struggled early because I may have been searching for speed instead of letting it come to us, once I was able to dial my driving in we showed a lot of strength.”

Mihocko ran his fastest lap of the feature in the final ten laps as he worked his way from 17th at the halfway mark to finish the night 14th.

“We were more excited to come back and improve on a decent 410 debut than we were upset with a finish outside the top ten. Unfortunately, we were rained out on Saturday,” he said.

Mihocko returns to 360 action with the USAC Southwest Sprint Cars on Saturday night at Arizona Speedway.

Tye Mihocko would like to thank Mears Mechanical, Dave Wilson Reality, Michael Most Trucking, All-Star Catering, Five Star Engines, Red Beard Composites, The Race Shack, and Paint by Steve for their support.
