26 Promotions – Phoenix, AZ – (December 9th, 2017) – 2017’s Power 600 Series Micro Sprint Champion, Jarrett Martin, will get his first taste of 360 Sprint Car action in 2018 as he teams up with Steve Stone Racing to run the 57 J & J Auto Racing Chassis for five ASCS Southwest events next season.

“I’m extremely excited to get the chance to drive for Steve next season,” said Martin. “Steve is a great family friend, who has been around racing for a long time and we have talked about doing something like this for a while.”

Stone believes Martin has proven that he is ready for the next level and is excited to be able to give Martin the opportunity to make the jump.

“I go way back Jarrett’s dad and grandpa, but beyond that, I think Jarrett’s ready and deserves a shot at being in a Sprint Car,” said Stone. “He’s ready for the next step and I think he’s going to do pretty well, pretty quick.”

They are both aware that Martin will have some adjusting to do early on as he transitions back and forth between the Micro and Sprint Car throughout the season.

“I think the biggest differences will be the power, speed, and learning how the car reacts in different situations,” said Martin. “But, hopefully, I can get comfortable in the car quickly and make the most of the opportunities that I have.”

“He’s going to have a little bit of growing to do. You use a lot more of the suspension as well as the power, I know a micro will put you back in your seat, but a sprint car really will,” said Stone. “But, he asks a lot of questions and that will only benefit him going forward”

Both agree that the goal for next season is for Martin to show improvement every time he hits the track.

“If we can have consistent runs and show some speed, I will be satisfied,” said Martin.

The exact races that Martin will be in the car will be determined once the ASCS Southwest Series schedule is released.
