RJ Johnson Gears Up for Casa Grande After Runner-Up Finish at CSP

26 Promotions – Tempe, AZ – (October 28th, 2017) – RJ Johnson holds a 113-point lead in the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series following the Race for the Cure at Canyon Speedway Park last week as the series heads into its final three races of the year.

Last week Johnson ran second from sixth in his heat race, placing him in the six-car invert.

“We were the high point guy after the heats, so we started sixth in the main,” Johnson explained. “We jumped up to second around lap five and stayed there. The track was very high paced around the top and Charles (Davis) got through traffic better than we did.”

Johnson will debut a brand-new Sherman Racecar tonight at Central Arizona Speedway as the regular USAC Southwest competitors will be joined by some of the National USAC drivers who are in town early for next weekend’s Western World Championships.

Johnson finished second in the only Southwest Series visit to Central Arizona Speedway earlier this season. Johnson has two wins in two NAPA Non-Wing division races at the track this year.

RJ Johnson would like to thank Martin Auto Museum, AME Electric, BG Chemicals, Pecon Builders, Sherman Race Cars, Bell Helmets, Kaeding Performance, Smokewagon Express, MBI, Fatheadz Eyewear, Butler Built Seats, Sunoco Race Fuels, and Rod End Supply for their continued support.
