26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (October 25th, 2017) – Jarrett Martin scored his thirteenth top-five finish of the year Saturday night at Canyon Speedway Park’s Race for the Cure.

“During mud packing the track was a little wetter than it usually is and we didn’t pack for nearly as long as usual,” Martin explained. “So, we were left with a track for hot laps and heat races that had some really bad wet spots that hadn’t been rolled in yet. I knew we had to get to the front of the heat to make the invert but I just didn’t have enough of a hold on the track to do much with. Somehow we still managed third.”

Martin’s drive from sixth to third was more than enough to lock himself into the six-car invert, placing him fifth on the grid for the start of the feature.

“We thought the track was still going to be coming in at the start, so we pretty much left the car alone to try and get the track to come to us,” he said. “But, it was already pretty good in some spots at the beginning, and by the end, there were some dry areas in three and four, so I think we were a little too loose all race.”

Martin ran most of the race in the fifth position, he officially finished fourth after another car was disqualified.

“There was nothing spectacular about the car or the driver, so we need to find some extra speed on tracks like that,” said Martin. “We are usually pretty good in the slick but the track stayed mostly good throughout the feature.”

Unofficially, Martin will take an eighteen point lead into the final weekend of the Power 600 Series season on November 24th and 25th at Canyon Speedway Park.

Jarrett Martin would like to thank Streaker Racing, K Corp, Pace Chassis, MyRacePass, The Race Shack, Paint by Steve, Resolute Performance Contracting, and Bell Helmets for their continued support.
