26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (October 24th, 2017) – After fighting motor and electrical issues for the last month, Dale Eliason Jr and Eliason Motorsports entered Saturday night’s Race for the Cure event at Canyon Speedway Park hoping to put all that behind them and return to the front of the field.

“I was really excited about running Non-Wing, but I knew I still needed to race my race,” said Eliason Jr. “I walked out to the small track when we arrived and it was really greasy with big puddles of water at the bottom of the corners, but this was the first time the track actually stayed grippy.”

Starting third in his heat, Eliason Jr fell back a spot as he tried to figure out the racing line. Once he figured out where to put the car, Eliason Jr regained the position to finish third. The result earned him enough points to make the six-car invert, placing him on the pole for the start of the feature.

Eliason Jr led most of the feature event, but lapped traffic played a role at the end.

“I had my line set and was pulling away from second when I drove up on the second pack of lapped traffic with seven to go and I got held up behind one of the cars,” Eliason Jr explained. “That allowed second to close the gap. We both got around the next lap car and in the next corner the guy in second took out my front and slid up the track.”

Eliason Jr fought back in the closing laps and the two raced it out to the finish.

“I stood my line and worked my way back up to him,” he said. “With two to go, I got back around him out of turn four and in the next corner I got taken out again.”

Eliason Jr crossed the line in second, but an off-track incident led to a disqualification awarding him the win.

Eliason Jr now has three wins to go along with eight top five and sixteen top ten finishes this season.

The Iceman returns to action on November 24th and 25th to close out the Power 600 Series at Canyon Speedway Park for the Inaugural Harvest Hustle.

Dale Eliason Jr would like to thank Affordable Powder Coating, Copper State Bolt & Nut, Custom Caretaking Plus INC, DOLCRX, Guhl Motors, HJ Tile, Industrial Machinery Services, PMP Chassis, Seros Racing Engines, and T & K Repair for their continued support.
