26 Promotions – Perris, CA – (September 26th, 2017) – RJ Johnson entered Saturday’s USAC CRA Sprint Car Series race at Perris Auto Speedway with all eyes on him, having bested the competition the last three times the series visited the half-mile oval.

Johnson’s kicked things off by qualifying seventh with a fastest lap of 17.050, lining him up fourth for the start of his heat, where he ran the bottom to a heat race win.

Starting seventh in the feature, Johnson quickly began marching his way forward.

“I got into the top five right away,” explained Johnson. “I got stuck behind two cars running side by side and finally cleared them to move into second with five to go.”

As the laps wound down, Johnson charged after Damion Gardner, cutting down his lead from over two seconds to under half a second as the checkered flag flew.

Johnson is back in action this weekend where he will be doing double duty during Canyon Speedway Park’s Hall of Fame Classic in both the USAC Southwest Series and the NAPA Non-Wing Sprint Series.

RJ Johnson would like to thank Martin Auto Museum, AME Electric, BG Chemicals, Pecon Builders, Sherman Race Cars, Bell Helmets, Kaeding Performance, Smokewagon Express, MBI, Fatheadz Eyewear, Butler Built Seats, Sunoco Race Fuels, and Rod End Supply for their continued support.
