26 Promotions – Show Low, AZ – (September 26th, 2017) – Colton Hardy raced his way into Victory Lane for the first time in a traditional Sprint Car Saturday night at Show Low Speedway Park.
“I can’t thank Ted, Aaron, AJ, and Nate enough,” said Hardy. “Monday when we unloaded the other car from last weekend’s ASCS race the only thing this car had in it was a front end. They busted their ass and got a car together for me to race. Without them, none of this would be possible.”
Hardy started on the pole of his heat and after a few attempts at a start, he fell into second, pushing the leader the entire race.
The result was enough to land Hardy in the feature redraw, where he drew the four, placing him on the outside of the second row for the start of the feature.
Hardy quickly moved into second and then took over the lead early in the race. After a red with about ten to go, Hardy was slid on the restart for the lead by Shon Deskins. Hardy battled back and regained the lead with three to go. He held off Deskins in the final laps as the two broke away from the rest of the field.
“Nate and Ted gave me a hell of a car for how cowboy up the track was,” he said. “I don’t think the car could have been much better. It feels good to get a wingless win. We don’t run them that often, but with how my first two attempts went, this was a huge confidence booster for future races.”
Hardy returns to his Non-Wing Micro this weekend for two days of racing at Canyon Speedway Park.
