26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (September 18th, 2017) – Dale Eliason Jr returned to his home track this weekend as the Power 600 Series returned from their summer break for the first race since early August and the first race back on the small track at Canyon Speedway Park since May.
Eliason Jr started on the outside of the front row in his heat and realized quickly that something wasn’t right with the car as he fell back to finish fifth.
“We put a new motor in the car for this race and I could tell it was about to blow in the heat race,” said Eliason Jr. “There wasn’t anything we could do about the motor so we left the car alone for the main.”
Starting tenth in the feature, Eliason Jr planned to log as many laps as possible. He worked his way up to fourth on the last restart with three to go. Eliason Jr moved into third on the white flag lap but was spun coming out of turn four, ending his night with an eighth-place finish.
Eliason Jr returns to Canyon Speedway Park for two nights of Non-Wing action on September 29th and 30th for the Sands Chevrolet Hall of Fame Classic.
