26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (June 14th, 2017) – With the ASCS Southwest Sprint Cars still on break until July 1st and the Micro’s off until next weekend, Colton Hardy and the Bandit Racing team decided to do a little Non-Wing racing this weekend at Arizona Speedway.

The night got off to a good start for Hardy as he started on the pole and won his Heat by over a second, which placed him fourth in the lineup for the Feature.

Unfortunately, Hardy’s season debut in the Non-Wing car only lasted two laps.

“I messed up on the start and was a little hesitant and fell back to seventh or eighth,” Hardy explained. “I was just kind of riding there for a while, letting the track do what it needed and entered turn one a little high, biked up and set it down, but slammed the right rear on the wall spinning the car around.”

Understandably frustrated with how the night ended, Hardy looks to take the positives out of the night and learn from the negatives.

“It’s hard to say how good we were with it being so early in the Feature,” said Hardy. “I feel bad for everyone that helps out on the car, Ted, Nate, AJ, Aaron, and Randy. It was supposed to be a night to get some seat time and race something during our long break on the wing side. I know we’ll take the good from the night and try to build some momentum for the second half of the season. Then learn what we can from the bad and forget the rest.”

Hardy is back in action this weekend as the Micro’s take on the big one-third-mile oval at Canyon Speedway Park.

Colton Hardy would like to thank Diamond Mechanical, M & J Trophies, Mark’s Nuts & Bolts, Elite Technical Coatings, CSI Shocks, F.S.C, NAPA Auto & Truck Parts, Borrello Race Engines, A & C Remodeling, Engler Machine & Tools and Simpson Race Products for their continued support.
