Eliason Jr Picks Up Top 10 Finish Despite Handling Issues

26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (May 22nd, 2017) – Dale Eliason Jr scored a Top 10 finish Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park while battling a loose racecar all night.

Eliason knew right away that he was going to need a tight car as soon as he saw the track on Saturday.

“I walked the track when we first got unloaded and noticed the middle to the top was all dry and the bottom was a giant puddle,” he said. “So I told my dad to make the car tight for the heat.”

Eliason started and finished his Heat race 4th and was still dealing with a car that was too loose for his liking.

Starting 11th in the Feature, Eliason cracked the top 10 after the first lap and moved into 9th on lap 6th. Still fighting handling problems he did everything he could to try to resolve the issue.

“The car was still too loose,” explained Eliason. “So I moved the wing all the way back during the caution.”

The Iceman did all he could, including picking up one more spot with halfway to go and presenting a tough challenge for 7th throughout the final 10 laps, ultimately he’d cross the finish line 8th for his fifth Top 10 of the year.

Next up for Eliason is two nights of Non-Wing action on Saturday and Sunday night back at Canyon Speedway Park.

Dale Eliason Jr would like to thank Affordable Powder Coating, Copper State Bolt & Nut, DOLCRX, Guhl Motors, HJ Tile, Industrial Machinery Services, PMP Chassis, Seros Racing Engines and T & K Repair for their continued support.
