26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (May 22nd, 2017) – Jarrett Martin entered Saturday night’s Power 600 Series event at Canyon Speedway Park with a 1-point lead in the standings after recording three Top 10’s, two Top 5’s and a victory in April.

Martin’s night got off to an inauspicious start in hot laps when he ran out of fuel and then got stuck in heavy mud on the bottom of the race track. But Martin quickly put those issues behind him and focused on getting ready for Heat race action, where he would start 3rd.

“We got up to second pretty early but I didn’t have anything for the leader,” said Martin. “I was overdriving the car early and I got a little better towards the end but still wasn’t good enough.”

Martin’s 2nd place finish was good enough to make the 6-car invert and line him up on the outside of the front row for the 25-lap Feature.

“We made some small adjustments to the car and I made some changes to my driving style,” he said. “I knew if I could get out to the lead and run a clean race I had a shot to win.”

Martin took the lead on lap two, following an early caution, Martin extended his lead to about half a straightaway. A caution just before the halfway point erased Martin’s lead, but he’d quickly pull away from the field again. Martin went on to lead 24 of the 25 laps to pick up his second win of the year.

“The car ended up being almost perfect, I was very happy with the setup we put on it,” Martin said. “I limited my mistakes and tried to keep getting faster as the race went on and we came out with the win.”

Martin returns to Non-Wing action for two nights of racing this Saturday and Sunday for the Salute to Indy at Canyon Speedway Park.

Jarrett Marin would like to thank Streaker Racing, K Corp, Pace Chassis, MyRacePass, The Race Shack, Paint by Steve, Resolute Performance Contracting and Bell Helmets for their continued support.
