26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (April 19th, 2017) – AJ Miller scored two Top 10’s this past weekend at Canyon Speedway Park as the Power 600 Series bolted the wings back on for the first time since the season opener on March 4th.

Miller’s weekend opened with Heat races on Friday night where he moved up one spot from the 4th place starting position to finish 3rd.

Just missing the 6-car invert, Miller would start 8th in the 20-lap Feature.

“The track was interesting,” he said. “It had good moisture in some spots, but due to guys running through the infield, there were spots on the track that had loose dirt.”

Running 7th with a few laps to go, Miller would get stuck behind a lap car. Being extra patient on the first night of a doubleheader, Miller got stuck behind the car and dropped two spots in the closing laps to finish 9th.

A bad pill draw lined Miller up 6th in Heat 1 Saturday night. With a track not conducive to passing Miller picked up one spot to finish 5th.

The bad pill draw and the lack of passing points lined Miller up 13th for Saturday night’s 25-lap Feature.

“After walking the track during intermission, we made a bunch of changes,” said Miller. “We definitely went the right direction. The car was super-fast.”

Miller worked his way up to a 10th place finish Saturday for his 6th top 10 of the year.

“We got stuck being patient behind a few cars and took too long to get around them,” Miller said. “I really think if we started further up we could have had something for those guys. But all in all, it was a good weekend and we learned a lot. I can’t thank Nathan Moseley enough for coming out on his off weekend from the sprint car to help turn wrenches!”

Miller will the next few weeks off before the Power 600 Series returns on May 20th for Canyon Speedway Park’s Kids Bike Giveaway Night.

AJ Miller would like to thank A & C Remodeling, Elite Technical Coatings, Sutton Signs, Derek Williams Designs and NAPA Auto & Truck Parks for their continued support.

Friday’s Results:
Heat: 4th -> 3rd
Feature: 8th -> 9th
