Cody Batten Picks Up Top 10 Finish at Arizona Speedway

(Image Credit: Photography By Duffy) – 26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (March 15th, 2017) – After putting the finishing touches on a new car at the track and running it to a top 10 finish at Central Arizona Speedway two weeks ago, Cody Batten was looking forward to getting back to his normal race day routine at Arizona Speedway on Saturday.

“I was excited to run one of the favorite tracks,” he said. “Arizona Speedway always makes for good racing.”

Batten’s night would get underway in the first of two NAPA Non-Wing Series heat races, where he would start and finish 5th, lining Batten up 11th for the start of the 20 lap Main.

Batten was able to work his way up through the field until motor issues began to affect the 71B machine on restarts.

“I was able to work my way to 5th pretty quickly,” said Batten. “Until about the halfway point where we started having issues. The motor wouldn’t get off the corner in restarts.”

Batten was able to nurse the car through the remainder of the Main and bring home another top 10 finish of 6th.

Batten and crew have a few weeks off to get the motor healthy before the NAPA Non-Wing Series returns to Arizona Speedway on April 8th for the NAPA Desert Shootout with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

Batten would like to thank Larry H. Miller Surprise, Handi Mac, Anasazi Pool & Spas and HPS Racing for all their support.
