AJ Miller Earns Second Top 10 Finish

26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (March 14th, 2017) – After finishing 9th in last week’s season opener while fighting brake issues throughout the Feature, AJ Miller went into the season’s first non-wing event with a different mindset.

“I went in with the mindset to focus on me and how I am driving the car,” he said. “It was a big learning night for me.”

For the second week in a row, Miller would start on the pole for his heat but would fall back to 2nd on the initial start.

“We definitely had a car that could have won the heat,” said Miller. “But Kyle (Huttenhow) just got a little bit better of a jump then I did and had the preferred line going into turn one on the outside.”

Miller would keep pace with Huttenhow throughout the Heat but would ultimately finish in 2nd, just missing the cut for the 6-car invert, Miller would start 7th for the 20 lap Non-Wing Feature.

Miller would spend most of the feature running between 6th and 9th trying to focus on driving the track and working on car control. At the end of the night, he’d find himself crossing the line 8th as the checker flag flew.

“With help over the phone from my Dad, my Crew Chief for the night, Nick Nickerson, nailed the setup,” he said. “I managed to keep the car clean and we learned a lot about what the car likes and my driving style.”

Miller returns to action on April 1st at Canyon Speedway Park where the Power 600 Series will be running Non-Wing again.

Featured Partner: Nick Nickerson
Miller wanted to give a shout out to Nick Nickerson for his help working on the car all night long on Saturday.

Miller would also like to thank A & C Remodeling, Elite Technical Coatings, Sutton Signs, Derek Williams Designs and NAPA Auto & Truck Parks for their support.
