AJ Miller Earns Top 10 Finish at Canyon Speedway Park’s “March Meltdown”

(Image Credit: Ben Thrasher) – 26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (March 8th, 2017) – After a successful rookie campaign and busy off-season, AJ Miller was ready to get back to the track and unveil the new look Miller Boys Racing micro sprint.

Miller’s sophomore season kicked off Saturday with Canyon Speedway Park’s “March Meltdown” and all the hard work put in during the off-season paid off early.

“The car felt good in hot laps,” said Miller, “especially with as many changes as we made on the car during the off-season.”

Miller would draw the 9 pill, lining him up on the pole in the 3rd and final micro heat of the night.

“We made a few changes after hot laps,” he said. “We ended up leading the heat from green to checker.”

Miller’s heat race win put him 3rd in passing points, with a 6-car invert, he’d start 4th in the Feature.

“We made some very aggressive changes on the car before the Main. We went a little too far and the car was really tight,” said Miller. “I ended up cooking my brakes about 5 laps into the race and fell back to about 6th.”

Miller would end up finishing the 20 lap Feature in 9th.

“We were running pretty consistent until I got tangled with another guy entering turn 3 and fell back to 9th,” he said. “It wasn’t the finish we were looking for but we learned a lot.”

Miller will be back in action this Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park for the first non-wing race of the year.

“I can’t begin to thank my dad enough for the work he does behind the scenes and at the track,” said Miller.
